Making RE Deep and Meaningful: Planning for Personal Knowledge

One of the key findings of Ofsted’s 2024 Deep and Meaningful report on Religious Education was that “the RE curriculum rarely enabled pupils to systematically build disciplinary knowledge or personal knowledge.”

This hub session will explore ways of planning explicitly for personal knowledge in RE, with a particular focus on identifying and integrating disciplinary and personal knowledge within curriculum planning and classroom practice.

We welcome the opportunity to share ideas and learn from one another. Please bring along any examples of planning and pupils’ work from your setting to support discussion.
